The Department of the History of Medicine (University of Crete), and the Archaeological Research Unit (University of Cyprus) are organizing an International Conference on:

Biomedical Sciences and Methods in Archaeology
Heraklion (Crete), 24- 26 September 2008

The Conference aims to highlight the research possibilities offered by the application of biomedical techniques to the study of human skeletal remains retrieved from archaeological contexts. Such innovative techniques are expected to contribute to a more comprehensive reconstruction of health and disease patterns in past populations.

Researchers in the fields of medicine, bioarchaeology, paleopathology, physical anthropology, archaeology, and related disciplines are invited to participate.
